Important Information from NRMP about the Match Week Schedule

From NRMP:

At 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, applicants will receive their Did I Match? information by logging into the R3 system at and by email. Please refer to for the message you will see displayed on the Applicant Options page. The Regional Match Statistics by Specialty Report also will be available at 12:00 p.m. by clicking the My Reports tab in the R3 system.

Also at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, the Match Week Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP) will commence for SOAP-eligible applicants. You can determine your SOAP eligibility on Friday, March 8, by logging in to the Registration, Ranking, and Results (R3) system at at 12:00 p.m. to view your status on the Applicant Options page. YOUR SOAP ELIGIBILITY IS DETERMINED WITHOUT REGARD TO WHETHER YOU MATCHED TO A POSITION DURING THE ALGORITHM PHASE OF THE MATCH.

If you are SOAP-eligible, you can access the List of Unfilled Programs beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, by logging in to the R3 system and clicking the Unfilled Programs tab on the left menu bar. If you match to a preliminary (PGY-1 year only) program, you will be able to view only advanced (PGY-2) programs with unfilled positions. If you match to an advanced program, you will be able to view only preliminary programs with unfilled positions.

At 1:00 p.m. on Monday, unmatched applicants can begin creating their applications in ERAS. The ERAS Post Office will send applications beginning at 2:00 p.m. SOAP-eligible applicants may apply only to programs on the NRMP List of Unfilled Programs and must use ERAS to submit applications. It is a violation of the Match Participation Agreement for applicants, regardless of their SOAP eligibility, to contact programs or to have any individual or entity contact programs on their behalf prior to programs initiating contact with them after receiving the ERAS application.

At 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, the first SOAP round will commence. SOAP-eligible applicants will receive an email notifying them if an offer is available, and all offers must be viewed and accepted/rejected through the R3 system. Offers extended and accepted create a binding commitment under the Match Participation Agreement. The List of Unfilled Programs will be updated at the conclusion of each SOAP round.

At 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, Match Day, Where Did I Match? information will be posted in the R3 system. At 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, the Match Outcome for All Programs, which is available to all participants, will be posted to the R3 system.

Please remember the following NRMP policies during Match Week. It is a violation of the Match Participation Agreement:
* to share the List of Unfilled Programs with anyone who did not register for The Match or who otherwise is eligible to receive it;
* to distribute or post any Match Week information from the secure Web site, including the List of Unfilled Programs and the Regional Match Statistics, to any Web site, social media site, or non NRMP-related matching service;
* to allow an individual who is not registered for The Match to use the registrant’s unique code number and password to access the secure R3 system;
* for applicants and programs to suggest or inform one another that placement on a SOAP preference list is contingent upon submission of a verbal or written statement indicating whether an offer will be accepted.

If the NRMP receives evidence that a Match participant has violated these rules, an investigation will be initiated and sanctions may be applied as outlined in the NRMP’s Violations Policy, which can be found on the NRMP web site at .

The NRMP has received numerous phone calls and emails from applicants asking about services that claim to send unmatched applicants’ information to unfilled programs. Use of those services by SOAP-eligible applicants is prohibited.

Our best wishes for a successful Match!
